INTERCEPT is a project aimed at improving law enforcement’s ability to remotely stop vehicles that pose high-security threats in urban environments. The project brings together security stakeholders across Europe to assess technological needs and drive innovation through a Pre-Commercial Procurement (PCP) process.

INTERCEPT addresses one of the most critical challenges in public space protection: stopping hostile or dangerous vehicles before harm is done.

The main objectives are:

  • Identify operational and technological gaps in stopping high-risk vehicles.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement and industry experts to define real-life security use cases.
  • Set the foundation for procurement of innovative, scalable solutions for remote vehicle stopping.

As a result, the project aims to develop a roadmap and procurement process that results in the development of reliable, field-tested vehicle-stopping technologies, ready for deployment by European law enforcement authorities.
