Events, News
On March 27, security stakeholders will gather in Nova Gorica to explore the latest innovations in public space protection delivered by our project. Additionally, the week will feature project progress meetings, internal training, and preparatory sessions.

As the first European Capital of Borderless Culture, Nova Gorica together with Gorizia host the event marking the culmination of SAFE-CITIES. This is a great opportunity, as our initiative has brought together law enforcement agencies, local authorities, and industry experts to enhance the protection of public spaces. The final demonstration offers a glimpse into the future of safer, smarter cities.

Umberto Battista, the project coordinator, highlights the significance of these innovations:

“SAFE-CITIES tools will assist in assessing the security of public and semi-public spaces, urban areas, and large-scale events. Additionally, solutions will support the design of new public spaces”.

The official demonstration in Slovenia will showcase:

  • A Security Vulnerability Assessment (SVA) Framework – integrating a participatory model and security-by-design approach to proactively assess risks.
  • Advanced Software Tools – capable of performing static vulnerability assessments and simulating dynamic threat scenarios using serious gaming methodologies.
  • Intuitive Dashboards – providing clear, actionable insights for security assessments and decision-making.

The agenda of the Final Demo Event is available under this link.

The event is open for those who deal with the protection of public spaces in their daily work.

It offers a unique opportunity to witness firsthand how these solutions can contribute to the safer cities of tomorrow. Join the event in Nova Gorica and be part of the future of urban security.

The Final Demo Event will be preceded by the SAFE-CITIES General Assembly meeting, which will allow partners to summarise the work done, provide updates on current progress, and plan the final steps. Additionally, a training session for invited stakeholders, based on defined scenarios, will be conducted.
